Here at The Fern Forest Nursery you’ll find we stock a large range of foliage plants for all growing conditions. Bromeliads are well known for their colourful and striking foliage along with their vibrant long lasting flowers and are perfect to add an exciting splash of colour to your tropical backyard or shade house. Here you’ll find a wide range or species and cultivars. They include the colourful Neoregelia sp. with their pink, red or purple rosettes to the larger Aechmea sp. with their tall flower spikes. Bromeliads can be grown in both pots with well drained potting mix as well as in the ground provide the drainage is provided.

Ginger is a great foliage to plant to fill in the gaps of you garden and create that tropical look in a short period of time. They range form small deciduous types to large evergreen variteties and many in between. The large ‘Shell Ginger’ with its green and yellow variegated leave looks stunning in a large clump as does the smaller growing ‘Red Back Ginger’ with its striking dark red/purple undersides. Other gingers include ‘Blue Ginger’ and ‘Beehive’ ginger.
